SECURITY
ACCOUNT ACCESS
By electing to use our service, you agree to share with us your current
user name and password for the limited and secure purpose of repositioning
the investments in your account. We fully understand that you may be
concerned about disclosing this personal information and offer the following
for your peace of mind.
While each 401(k) plan provider is different, most follow a strict set
of security procedures to ensure the safety of your accounts. These procedures
are in place to ensure that unauthorized withdrawals and beneficiary changes
are not possible. Some of your provider's procedures may include:
- Following up online requests for disbursements or beneficiary change
with a phone call to verify the request.
- Confirming that bank account owner information matches the retirement
account owner before a disbursement is made.
- Requiring written documentation, delivered by postal mail to the address
of record, of a request for disbursement or change of beneficiary.
Essentially, there is no way for us to remove funds because we are not
the account owners. However, for your own peace of mind, we encourage you
to check with your own 401(k) plan provider to see what their security
safeguards are. Be assured, StraightLine takes every precaution to ensure
the security and confidentiality of your accounts.
